You are what you share

Written by Matteo Cassese

You are what you tweet: this is the title of the talk by CollegeHumor creator Ricky Van Veen. Our identity is in a state of constant flux, defined in every instant by what we share. But why do we share what we share? Do we use social media as a stage where we act in order for other people to look at us in a certain light? Certainly this is what Ricky tells us. And more and more content is being produced in order for us to identify with it and the social platforms are making us feel better by exposing us to more clicks, likes and giving us a higher clout.

The real question is: do we really want to be what we share?
