The One Secret Habit of All Great Presenters – Part 36

Written by Matteo Cassese

It’s always a good idea to bring a camera to record when you are on stage. What happens is one of two things: you either have a great recording and you upload it on Youtube, Vimeo, you share it with the world, you share it on social media, and your message spreads beyond the room you are in. Or, if you didn’t do a great job, well, that’s really not a problem. You review your presentation and learn what you did wrong.

The gear you need to record your presentation is already in your pocket. Every smartphone is a perfect video recorder.

But if you want something dedicated, a used video camera is perfect, a cheap plastic tripod from Amazon will cost you less than $150. And whenever you want to step up to the next level, you don’t need a super professional camera, you need a very good microphone. Decide if you need something that attaches to you (a lavalier), or a camera microphone that is more professional, but in any case, just invest in your audio gear. Get the cheapest HD camera that you can.

  • Get the gear and make it a habit to record your presentations

Who is Matteo Cassese?

Hi! I’m a marketing consultant and an enthusiastic entrepreneur with experience working for multinational companies (Warner Bros.), teaching at a university (Link Campus University), and consulting for entertainment companies (Netflix). I’m a scholar of storytelling and have dug deep into screenwriting techniques, mythology, and trans-media narratives. This passion is translated in the simple structure template that you get in all my courses. In my free time I enjoy driving cars (fast).
