How to Prepare a Presentation Starting from Your Content – Part 17

Written by Matteo Cassese

For this lesson we switch on our computers again but we don’t fire up any presentation design software, but rather a simple text editor where you write down all the text that is supposed to appear on the slides of our presentation.

Once we have all our text in one place the first thing we can do is to verify that we have a uniform amount of text in each slide and we either edit the text to make it shorter or we create additional slides to host this amount of extra text.

Then we can check the consistency and uniformity of our language so that whenever we call for a specific concept, we use a consistent wording.

Then, having the text all in one place allows us to verify the readability and most importantly to spell check and make sure that we don’t have any messy mistakes.

Remember, in this phase focus on your audience and remember that you are writing for them. What would they like? What would they understand?

Summary:

  • Work on your text all in one place and consistently, to optimize it before opening any presentation design software

Who is Matteo Cassese?

Hi! I’m a marketing consultant and an enthusiastic entrepreneur with experience working for multinational companies (Warner Bros.), teaching at a university (Link Campus University), and consulting for entertainment companies (Netflix). I’m a scholar of storytelling and have dug deep into screenwriting techniques, mythology, and trans-media narratives. This passion is translated in the simple structure template that you get in all my courses. In my free time I enjoy driving cars (fast).
